ABOUT LUSG

      Team Lead

Lagos Urban Studies Group (LUSG), University of Lagos, was established in 2015 and draws inspiration from providing sustainable knowledge and solutions using transdisciplinary research (TDR) approach for implementing global, national and local development aspirations in respect of sustainable urbanization, environment, and development. TDR involves stakeholder mobilization and engagement as well as science-policy-society interactions for co-design, co-production, and co-management to co-create, co-design and co-produce knowledge by bringing key stakeholders in the academia, governments, businesses, civil society and community groups to address urban, environment and development challenges including housing and basic services, transportation, participatory planning, air quality and waste management and disaster risk reduction. Through multisectoral and transnational collaborations, the LUSG has worked in Accra, Lagos, Luanda, Nairobi, and Maputo.

Mission

To co-design and co-produce sustainable knowledge and solutions through transdisciplinary research (TDR) approach for implementing global, national, and local development aspirations in respect of sustainable urbanization, environment, and development.

Vision

To be a leading team of urban specialists fostering science-policy-society interactions for addressing urban, environmental and development challenges in Africa.
